Holy Trinity Cathedral

Town centre, cathedral complex · Catholic

The cathedral was a centre of urban life: it housed a chapter, a chancery, an archive, a Latin school and the Holy Spirit hospice; regional diets were held here. The fire of 1781 destroyed the complex so severely that it was not rebuilt, and in 1787 the cathedral seat was moved to the Church of Sts Peter and Paul.
